Bribie Island Photography Club

About Our Club

In 1992 Bribie Island Photography Club was founded by a group of local residents who shared an interest in photography. There has been up to 30 members ranging in age from 12 to 80+. We all share a common goal which is to learn more about our art and continually improve our images.

We meet on the 4th Monday monthly from Jan – Nov. at 7.00pm for 7.15 start. Venue – Board Room Bribie Island Community Art Centre- 191 Sunderland Drive Banksia Beach.

Excursions are held between meetings as organised on the calendar or as members request them. This could be a couple of members getting together to go on a photo shoot or a more extensive event.

Guest Speakers /Judges visit and offer their expertise – we learn innovative and different ways to create images as well as enjoy valuable feedback on our images in a friendly and non – threatening environment.

Competitions are held most nights and evaluated by Photography Society of Qld accredited judges or a club judging panel.  Critiques are given which aim to provide us with constructive feedback.

Our competitions are low key but if a member has an image they would like feedback on it is not necessary to enter it in the competition.  Our images are in various sections including large open colour and open monochrome prints.   Projected images (PI) are judged in categories of Theme (set subject) Open Colour and Open Monochrome.

Club and Competition Rules apply and compliance is expected.  Copies available here from "Download Club Documents" page.

Our fees are $50.00 /yr

A $5 meeting fee is charged per member.  Visitors may attend two (2) meetings without charge.

Annual fees is payable each January
