GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
BrainConnects will be held at 2 different venues.
On August 22, it will be at DoubleTree Hilton Kuala Lumpur, coinciding with the INCF Neuroinformatics 2017 Congress (www.neuroinformatics2017.org)
On August 23, it will be held at CAPE, Kuala Lumpur. The sessions on Aug 23 will be digitally broadcasted to off-site participants who cannot make it to the meeting.
The recommendation is for delegates to attend the INCF Neuroinformatics Congress 2017 and take rooms at the DoubleTree Hilton KL from Aug 20 to Aug 21.
An alternative hotel which is close to DoubleTree Hilton is the Le Apple Boutique Hotel near KLCC (leapple-klcc.com.my)
We recommend delegates to take 1 night room at Aloft KL Sentral Hotel (http://www.aloftkualalumpursentral.com/) on Aug 22 because of close proximity to the BrainConnects venue on Aug 23.
Things to note: KL Sentral is the main transportation hub in Kuala Lumpur city.
To get from double tree hilton to KL Sentral, it is just 6 train stops from the nearby Ampang Park LRT Station (Kelana Jaya Line) to KL Sentral station.
Alternatively Uber will be approx a half hour ride (or upto 1 hour depending on traffic).
The venue on Aug 23 will be next to KL Sentral (Menara Bank Rakyat is the venue and Aloft hotel is a good accommodation just beside it).
From KL Sentral station, it is just a 0.5 hr to 45 min express train ride to KL International Airport (or KLIA2 if you are flying via AirAsia). Trains are half hour apart. AirAsia also has hourly flights from KLIA2 to Singapore.
HIGH SPEED TRAIN FROM KUALA LUMPUR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (KLIA)
The high speed train from KL International Airport to KL Sentral is a half hour ride costing RM55 per trip. Trains are comfortable and air conditioned. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the following website for a discount (http://www.kliaekspres.com) or purchased directly at the KL International Airport.
KL Sentral (http://www.klsentral.com.my/conn_main.aspx) is the public transportatlon hub within Kuala Lumpur city - you may access the light rail transit lines that ply KL city, the intercity trains (ETS, KTM) or taxis from this convenient central location.
WALKING FROM KL SENTRAL
The walk to Menara Bank Rakyat would take about 8-10 minutes via a covered walkway from KL Sentral. Exit KL Sentral via the exit near KLIA Express departure Hall or any exit convenient to you. Walk towards 1 Sentral under the covered walkway (see map below) and further towards Menara Bank Rakyat on Jalan Travers by taking the pedestrian bridge next to 1 Sentral. You would be able to see the Menara Bank Rakyat from the bridge. Menara 1 (Tower 1) is located right next to the pedestrian bridge and Menara 2 is to the left of Menara 1.
RIDE-HAILING APPS FROM KUALA LUMPUR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (KLIA)
If you do not wish to take the trains, we recommend ride-hailing apps to get to the meeting venue or your hotel. Service is generally timely and drivers tend to be friendly and reliable.
