MOHS Gender Equality Advocates

About Us

We are the Gender Equality Advocates (GEA), a club founded at Mount Olive High School on January 29, 2021. We are a group that cares about gender equality and advocating for ourselves and others. We stand for justice and fair treatment for all. We work to create a more equal environment in our own town and in our surrounding communities. Anyone interested in equality, and especially that of gender equality, would be a perfect fit for our club and should join us in fighting for equal opportunities.

“Women and girls represent half of the world’s population and, therefore, also half of its potential. Gender equality, besides being a fundamental human right, is essential to achieve peaceful societies, with full human potential and sustainable development. Moreover, it has been shown that empowering women spurs productivity and economic growth.”
