Colorado Healthy Body

Welcome!

My goal is to be a resource, a support and a motivator to help you achieve whatever health related goals you desire. Throughout this site you will find several pathways to improve overall health and wellness.

Education is important.

Desire is important.

Drive is important.

I cannot give you everything you need, but I will give you everything I can.

My personal mentor instills in me the desire to be eternally optimistic, always look on the bright side, and be willing to try and try (and perhaps try) again!  I bring this into my work and hope you embrace this for your life!

Check out my YouTube Channel... Sustainable YOU!

I believe it will always be a work in progress... so please keeping checking back, leave comments, and subscribe so I can give you more of what you need!

Postings should be weekly to give you a bit more to keep you moving and staying healthy!

Recipe of the Week:

Loaded Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients: (for 1 serving)

Directions:

1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Place the sweet potato on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake it for approx. 45 minutes until it is soft.

2. Then cut the potato in half and scoop out most of the flesh, leaving a 5 mm layer of potato. But don’t throw the tasty flesh away – you can use it as an extra side dish or turn it into mashed sweet potatoes.

3. Carefully crack an egg into each sweet potato half and bake your skins for an additional 15-20 minutes. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and some crushed red pepper flakes before enjoying your orange-colored snack

*One serving contains about 400 calories, 60 g of carbohydrates, 20 g of protein and 10 g of fat*

Wellness Tip of the Week:

Get your vitamin C

Vitamin C may not prevent your illness, but it will help shorten your recovery time.  It is 'famous' for supporting your immune system.  Research supports the goal to consume about 200mg daily.  That's a lot of oranges!!  Luckily, there are other options, maybe a better favorite fruit or vegetable :)

About Jodi

I can remember realizing as a child that my daily choices would determine my health as an adult and how long I would be able to be active. Sports dominated my life through high school and are still an integral part of my daily routine. My children know, mommy only stays healthy and happy if she stays active.

My professional endeavor with massage started in 2003. I had taken classes and training programs in high school for Athletic Training and Physical Therapy, but still felt something was missing. My traditional college years, I majored in Kinesology, Journalism, Speech Communication, Coaching, Dance and other various areas. None of these completely enticed me but all gave me valuable information and helped shape my desires for what I truly wanted to achieve in my work.

My professional education continued at Ashford University where I graduated Suma Cume Laude in Health and Wellness from the College of Health and Human Services and Sciences in 2014. Since my massage graduation in 2004, I have taken several continuing education classes to further my abilities and knowledge base in the areas of stretching, joint mobilization, and muscle re-education. The possibilities I have explored with massage have allowed me to truly do a"job" I LOVE everyday and continue to live an active lifestyle. I am able to be with my children, and with my clients, both in the ways they need. I have strived for and learned to find balance in my life. It is rewarding to help my clients to further balance their lives as well through my additional training and learning program support as a Certified Health Coach.
