Artist Statement

Dealing with the loss of a close loved one is something that most people will deal with through their lives. The traumatic experience of actually seeing death can be mentally and emotionally exhausting, and completely change a person’s life and brain chemistry. As my brain tries to re-wire itself in a way to balance the emotional toll that was enhanced by trauma, characters in my head were created. The interactions with each other and myself is then depicted through my artwork in which I create a visual documentary as a way to illustrate the conflict within my head as I move on through life. My desire for the viewer is to take the imagery of my battles and find a connection with it in their own personal way and hopefully gain a better insight of their struggle as I do with mine.
