Brianna Barry comes from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, raised in an artistic family, her mother an artist and her father a musician. Ms. Barry utilizes printmaking, painting, and drawing in her work and is incorporating digital media as well. She received her BFA from Cameron University in Lawton, OK focusing on folklore, mythos, and portraits of animals. Ms. Barry graduated with her MFA at Texas Tech University where she is exploring personally significant work, with a primary concentration in Printmaking and her secondary being in Painting. Her work is a visual narrative that combines a lexicon of symbols to relate a tale of mental trauma. Her work has been shown in many groups and solo exhibitions across the Unites States, including Corpus Christi, Manitowoc, Oklahoma City, Norfolk, and Lubbock. She was awarded Sybil & Richard Dickey Art Scholarship, Helen Jones Foundation Art Talent Scholarship, and the J.T. and Margaret Talkington Graduate Fellowship at Texas Tech University.
