191018: Purchased. Flat front front tire, not running.

191019: Battery dead, tried to charge to no avail. Points missing lock down screw, added screw, gapped points tried to start using falcon van battery but still appears to be no spark.

191023: Flat tube in driver front fixed, frozen brake shoes removed . Rolls with a squeek/squeal so expect all brake shoes/cylinders are in poor shape.

On deck: test condenser - http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/ignition/ig129.htm

Interested in a tilter.

191027: Cleaned condenser, reinstalled. Got a spark, one loud bang and decided enough effort on the ICE. Pulled the engine to prep for EV conversion. Here is the empty bay.

191102: Tore down the ICE and reinstalled the differential/transmission.

191107: straw man EV specs.

  • Six 4pack GBS-LFMP200AH (19.3" x 9.6" x 5.6" 55lbs) for ~220lbs

  • 72-96V 650A Curtis 1238E-7621 controller 48-80V 550A Curtis 1238E-6521

  • AC-35 HPEVS AC 3X-28.25 C-Face. 1 1/8" keyed shaft. 85lbs Went with AC 34 as it' a better fit designed to extend the "knee" out further into the RPM range.

191110: mostly constructed a tilter. Will try it out next weekend.

191117: tilter in action. More of a pain than I expected but it definitely makes wire brushing and por15 undercoating easy.

191128: Leaning toward the B-faced AC 34 for higher rpms. Also reducing batteries. Would go with a 48V setup so Four 4packs GBS-LFMP200AH for ~220lbs.

191129: Started the list of parts needed.

191231: Motor mounted and wired to transmission. Looking to locate controller. Still not decided on batteries.

200129: Purchase 3 Tesla S/X modules ~68.4V, 230 Ah(used),~180lbs

200131: tilter in action again... trying to clean up the rest of the undercarriage and see about fitting batteries underside once they arrive.

Lots going on... need to log... but there isn't enough time in a day.

200329: Remove lower sproket as newly added transmission oil leaking pretty bad. Need an oil seal. Created database of parts with those i need marked "wanted" in: https://justinrobinsoncook.gitlab.io/sambar_parts/Subaru_360_truck_van_parts_catalog.html

200404: Custom crafted oil seal to transmission bearing.

200907: Oil seal is no good. Because the chain puts up such a racket I've 3d printed a cover meant to seal a small bath of oil (from leaking bearing) for the chain be constantly lubricated. If I can keep that sealed the chain should be quieter from the oil and hopefully last longer itself.
