Autumn 2013 -- Urban Adamah, Berkeley
We'd like you to know about a couple of fun shows coming up in Berkeley. Urban Adamah is folks who've created a small farm in west Berkeley, with "a thriving Jewish environmental education center and gathering place for the entire Bay Area Jewish community. We now offer a robust set of youth programs and camps, holiday celebrations, workshops and public programs, which we continue to develop to meet the needs and interests of our participants" -- in other words, a happening place. Enjoy homemade knishes for sale from Hugs & Knishes, and "As with all Urban Adamah events, please bring a canned good to donate to our food bank."
And in December, after the Chanukah latkes have settled, we'll host our annual event at the Freight & Salvage.

January 2013 -- Saul's Deli, Berkeley
Happy New Year everyone!
Did you hear about the new kosher deli on the moon? ... Great food, but no atmosphere.
But if you're looking for both, the Red Hot Chachkas (or some of us -- Julie just came back from icy Chicago with a broken hand) will play on Monday January 21, 6-8pm, as special guests of "Klezmer Mondays" at Saul's Restaurant & Delicatessen, 1475 Shattuck Ave. (in the Gourmet Ghetto, just north of Vine St.), Berkeley. Excellent eating (upgraded a lot over the last couple of years), lively ambiance, and no cover charge. (But don't forget the tip jar!) Stay and schmooze or nosh with us after we're done at 8pm!
"Klezmer Mondays" at Saul's usually features Mike Perlmutter (clarinet, saxophone) Dave Rosenfeld (mandolin, fiddle, and percussion), & friends. On Monday February 11th, Anthony Russell & Heather Klein will be special guests.
Also at Saul's, on most Saturdays from 6-8pm, the Chachkas' Diana Strong plays accordion solo (or sometimes with friends).
