all about me...
Hi! My name is Megan Schneider. This is my first year at Joyner, 13th year teaching, and 5th year teaching 5th grade!
I grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I always wanted to be a teacher just like my mom. I earned my Bachelor's in Elementary Education with minors in Math, Science and German Education from Northern Michigan University.
I moved to Raleigh after graduation to teach seventh grade math and science. After teaching middle school for seven years, I moved to Root Elementary where I taught both 5th and 3rd grade. When the opportunity to teach in my own neighborhood at Joyner came up, I jumped at it!Â
In my free time, I enjoy traveling, hiking, kayaking, playing board games, watching football and spending time with my family, friends and two kitties, Bella and Rory.
When I was in 5th grade I started at a new school. My teacher had guinea pigs which I loved! I played the violin, played softball and was in Girl Scouts!
