Case Study: Margaret Cavendish

The following is an essay I wrote for my GBK 305 course in response to a noncanonical text we read in class, Margaret Cavendish's The Blazing World. In this essay, I argue that The Blazing World should be considered a "Great Book" because it fulfils every requirement a Great Book must have. I included this essay on my website because I believe it is a perfect case study in favor of one of the texts I have included on my proposed new Great Books reading list. While I do not have enough time or space to explain my reasoning behind all the texts I included, this essay serves as an in-depth explanation for one of the texts.
