MATCH PLAY INFORMATION

General Rules for Match Play

1.   Matches must be played on or before the deadline date. 

2.   Matches not played by the deadline date will be automatically forfeited. Please contact your opponents to set up a match early on.  There can be unexpected issues with player's schedules, bad weather, etc. so it is advised to set up the match well before the deadline.  All Match Play deadline dates are FIRM.  There will be NO EXTENSIONS granted.   

3.   If experiencing any issues with the contacting opponents or with verifying handicaps, please ensure the correct Match Play convenor is contacted ASAP before deadline date with concerns.  If the issue appears to be one sided and the match can’t be played before deadline, the committee can declare a winner or forfeit both players.

We must keep the generous timelines for the draws moving for the sake of your fellow participants. 

4.   Any questions regarding handicaps must be clarified between participants BEFORE the match begins. Protests regarding handicaps will not be accepted once the match has started. All matches except A-Flight are played from the White tees. A-Flight plays from Blue Tees. 

5.     Proof of Handicap for Match Play:

      All Handicap Matches (Spring, Senior, Two-Man Best-Ball) require a proof of handicap. If not using a TVMS account on Tee-On.com, please ensure you have documentation about your handicap available before your match to provide to your opponent
If a player cannot provide valid documentation of handicap that player must play as a SCRATCH HANDICAP or forfeit the match.  Please Note:  The MAXIMUM Handicap for any match is 36 

A handicap must be mutually agreed upon by both parties PRIOR to start of  the Match.

6.   If there is doubt as to a Rule or Procedure during the match, play 2 balls. Player MUST announce to opponent of his intention to play 2 balls. Committee to settle valid disputes within 7 days of match. Please notify your convenor if this comes into play asap after the match.

7.   Match participants should decide before the match begins what they are going to do if a playoff is needed UNLESS you are at or past the deadline date. If you are at or past the deadline date you must play sudden death starting at hole number 1.  Shots are awarded as they were during regular play.

2 Player Events (Spring Handicap, Senior Handicap)
The player with the lower handicap would be reduced to a 0 handicap and the other player will get 75% of the difference in strokes.

Example 1:
Player 1=2.0 handicap and player 2=10.0 handicap
Player 1 would get 0 strokes and player 2 would get 6 strokes (10.0 minus 2.0 X .75)

 4 Player Events (2 Man Best Ball)
The player(s) with the lowest handicap(s) would be reduced to a 0 handicap and the other players will get 75% of the difference in strokes.

 Example 2:
Player 1A: 5.0 handicap and Player 1B=10.0 handicap
Player 2A: 11.0 handicap and Player 2B=18.0 handicap

Player 1A would get 0 strokes and Player1B would get 4 strokes (10.0-5.0 x .75)
Player 2A would get 5 strokes (11.0-5.0 x .75) Player 2B would get 10 strokes (18.0-5.0 x. 75)

 Special Notes

1. Strokes are given out on most difficult holes as per the list on card.
2. If 75% of the difference in strokes results in a partial number please round down if the number is .4 or less OR round up if the number is .5 or higher.
3. There are no strokes awarded in Flighted Events. (A, B, C, D and Senior OPEN)
