Based on Green's schedule it's possible that he taught over 60,000 hours of music lessons.

Greene began teaching around 1963 and taught until late May of 2005, about 42 years.

He taught an estimated 31 hours a week*, mostly in person, but also via mail and over the phone. He also taught workshops at various colleges and music stores around the Los Angeles area.

Some interesting estimated statistics:

total estimated number of teaching hours:   67704  (42 years x 52 weeks x 31 hours per week)

estimated yearly teaching hours:   1612    (52 weeks x 31 hours per week)

* This estimation is based on Greene's teaching habits as described in Barbara Franklin's My Life With the Chord Chemist and while it may reflect his schedule during his time with Franklin (ca. 1992–5/2005), it seems possible this type of a schedule existed for him before meeting Franklin.
