History and Goals

History

Since the founding of the graduate chapter of GHO in 2016, our mission has been to improve health worldwide. We aim to ensure the survival of vulnerable populations through transformative actions that connect health care services to medically underserved and impoverished communities across local, national, and international boundaries. Our undergraduate chapter of GHO was founded in 2019 by the following students:

Founding Undergraduate Officers

Our Goals

To improve population health at the local, state, and international level through public health initiatives such as volunteering, educating, and providing care.

To promote access to healthcare by establishing and/or linking health care services to underserved and vulnerable populations.

To engage with community stakeholders in addressing the issue of poor healthcare access through advocacy and awareness programs.

To provide aspiring health care professionals with opportunities for experiential education that enables them to acquire knowledge, skills, competency, and a sense of cultural awareness through holistic trainings.

To enrich prospective or current health care professionals in the important topic of public health and global health through education and exposure to real-life scenarios.

To facilitate an effective far-reaching network that helps connect aspiring professionals across the healthcare field through research, mentorship, and outreach opportunities.

To establish interdisciplinary cohesiveness in the health professions in order to ensure a global organizational impact across all populations.

To ensure a professional organization that emphasizes a high standard of healthcare ethics, transparency, and accountability in all our respective initiatives.

To transform lives by cultivating leaders of the future and instilling a sense of hope among individuals and families.
