  • When will the Academy be held?

The 2020 Southwest Arkansas Agri Academy will be held June 1-5, 2020.

  • How old do you need to be to attend the Academy?

The Southwest Arkansas Agri Academy is open to students who have completed grades 8-12 as of May 2020.

  • Where can I find the application?

  • When are the applications due?

Applications for the 2020 Southwest Arkansas Agri Academy are due by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2020.

  • How much does it cost to attend the Academy?

Tuition for the Southwest Arkansas Agri Academy is $75.00 per student. Thanks to the generosity of our community members, there are scholarships available to assist with tuition fees.

  • When will I need to pay my tuition fee?

Tuition fees do not need to be paid until you have been notified that you have been selected to attend the Academy. Selected applicants will have until May 29, 2020 to pay their tuition.

  • I'm not in 4-H, can I still participate?

Yes! We have opened the Southwest Arkansas Agri Academy to all youth grades 8-12 who are interested in expanding their knowledge and understanding of the agriculture industry and its impact in southwest Arkansas.

  • I don't live in Arkansas, can I still participate in the Academy?

Yes! The Academy is open to students living or attending school in Texarkana and the surrounding areas. Because of the Academy schedule, we recommend living within a reasonable driving distance from Texarkana as this will be where we start and end our days.

  • I'm a parent of an Academy attendee. Am I responsible for getting my child to each destination during the week?

You are only responsible for getting your child to the Miller County Courthouse each morning and picking him or her up from the same place each afternoon. We will be providing group transportation to each tour throughout the day.

  • Why should I want to attend the Academy?

The Southwest Arkansas Agri Academy is a premiere week-long opportunity for you to explore, learn and be inspired by the vast agricultural opportunities in your own backyard. You won't find the opportunity to engage with producers, tour companies and develop your personal leadership skills anywhere else in the Ark-La-Tex.

  • What do Academy attendees receive?

Academy students will receive official Southwest Arkansas Agri Academy gear, a bag filled with resources for their week and the experience of a lifetime.

  • I'm not a student, but I'm interested in this program. How can I help?
