About Me

Greetings and a very warm welcome!  Thank you so much for visiting my page.  Currently, I work on the Process Sciences/Pilot Plant team at Genentech Oceanside.  We strive to ensure novel drugs can be developed at our site in an effort towards the betterment of patients' health.

Before my endeavor into the pharmaceutical industry, I completed my PhD at UC Riverside working in the labs of Dr. Xiaoping Hu (UCR) and Dr. Megan A.K. Peters (UCI) in September 2021.  I received my Masters in Bioengineering from UC Riverside in 2018 and my Bachelors in Bioengineering from UC San Diego in 2016.

My PhD research applied a probabilistic statistical model to the locus coeruleus circuit in order to characterize its relationship with attention.  Specifically, I used a variety of software to create a hidden Markov model around a fMRI big data optimized to image such subcortical structures, and investigated how these model parameters change because of this perturbation.  The intent was to find relationships between this statistical model and other computational neuroscientific measurements I calculated (i.e. functional connectivity and pupillary changes).  My research resulted in two first author peer reviewed publications and at least three publications with other groups.

In summary, I am trained as a bioengineer with experience in upstream and downstream processes, big data analysis, and project management.  I am continuously striving to learn and be innovative.  Now that I've completed my PhD, I aspire to enhance my career in the pharmaceutical industry.
