About

The seeds for this club were sowed in the first year of college of the first managing team, the glorious year of 2018. We held few informal discussions at HB -2 and were heartened by the success. The outcome was a dedicated team to continue planning and arranging these sessions. We felt that the process itself was crucial in enabling students to present their views in front of an audience which is ready to listen and respond.

Debates and discussions are a great hobby. Many IITs and NITs have clubs which regularly participate in competitions and are often one of the oldest and well established ones, like the Debating Club at IIT Delhi and Bombay or Debating Society at IIT Roorkee, Ropar and Goa. Amongst NITs there are debating clubs at Warangal, Rourkela, Silchar, Jamshedpur, Durgapur, Kurukshetra.

One subtle point here is the need of a separate discussion and debate club apart from a literary one. Often writers and orators are different people.
