Our Story

Established in 1895, Ruby's has been in the same family for over 40 years, serving the village of Thringstone and surrounding areas the finest fish and chips!

Originally set up by Ruddy Waldrum in 1895 and located near the Rose & Crown pub (now Thringstone Co Op), Ruby's then relocated to a barn on The Green before finally moving to its current location in 1929. The business was then taken over by Ruddy's daughter Ruby and her husband Chris Handford, before finally being taken over by the current owners, Michael and Sonia in October 1977 and later joined by their son Andy in 1997.

Michael and Sonia decided to keep the name Ruby's in honour of the previous owner, keeping Ruby's finest traditions as well as introducing what over the years would become a few of their own.
