Resurrection Cemetery

Resurrection is a modern cemetery on Route 25 in Newtown, Connecticut. It previously allowed only  flat memorial stones but is now allowing upright tombstones. It is a wide, open space with a memorial in the center (photo, below). It also has a new (as of 2025) Little Angels Shrine, dedicated to infants and children who have passed on.

Estimated number of interments, as of November 2025: at least 1138.

Photos were taken 15 September 2019 and 6 November 2025.

The stones on either side say: "Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again." 

"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me shall, even if he die, shall live."
