Outreach
In addition to being the Physics Department representative of the College of Science diversity committee, I am a member of the JLab Theory Diversity & Inclusion Committee, I am involved in various diversity-related committees and outreach efforts at ODU as well as in JLab aiming to increase the presence of underrepresented communities in the sciences.
A free virtual international program hosted by ODU to give aspiring Scientists the opportunity to hear about cutting-edge research from experts
The program includes mini-courses, lectures, activities, STEM panels, social events, etc.

Thoughts on diversity
The late Ann Nelson was among the strongest advocates for diversities in Physics and Science as a whole. In 2017, she wrote a powerful commentary in Physics Today, which strongly resonated with me then and continues to this day. The piece, title "Diversity in physics: Are you part of the problem?", is worth reading for everybody in the field.
I co-wrote an opinion piece explaining the need for diversifying the sciences and create pre-college outreach programs in order to achieve this goal. The article was published by the Virginia Pilot.
