Palansia, officially the Republic of Palansia, is an East African micronation landlocked within the borders of The Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of the Sudan. Palansia, the first ever micronation of 2023, is founded by Thomas Lu, now serving as its current leader since the founding of The Republic of Palansia on the 19th of February, 2023. The nation is situated in the Bir Tawil region and encompasses a small territory of 2,060 km². Palansia operates as a democratic republic with a unicameral National Assembly, an executive headed by the President, and a Supreme Court serving as the highest judicial authority. The Republic’s political system operates with centralised governance and upholds the principles of Freedom, Unity, and Prosperity as its founding values. Its capital city, Versbury, serves as the administrative and cultural center. Second-tier cities such as Braighdon and Haldaine act as commercial and academic hubs. Palansia's Bill of Rights, enacted within the same founding year, includes several civil and political liberties, including the right to education, healthcare, housing, and employment. Palansia does not have mandatory national service. Instead, it is voluntary, and its military is civilian-controlled. The Republic also incorporates national symbols such as the Palansian National Seal and Advisory Council to assert governance and promote state identity. Palansia asserts its sovereignty and independence through official documentations, such as the ratification of the Constitution of the Republic of Palansia. The state presents itself as being fully committed to democratic principles and the welfare of its population.

When Britain was in control of The Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of the Sudan, they redrew Egypt and Sudan's boundaries in 1899 following a similar pattern to how other European powers drew up the rest of Africa: with straight lines and with little consideration for geographical, cultural, or any ethnic differences. However, in 1902, Britain realised its mistake and redrew the border of Egypt and Sudan again, this time along the administrative line. When the two borders (one former and one new) overlapped each other, two areas stood out: South of the original border was Bir Tawil, now claimed and currently known as Palansia, and to the North was the Hala’ib Triangle. Because Bir Tawil was empty, and the Hala'ib Triangle was of valuable land to both countries, if either Egypt or Sudan claimed Bir Tawil, then the other country will then claim the Hala'ib Triangle, which both countries will resist. Because of this, neither Egypt or Sudan will claim Bir Tawil, so as the other nations of the world, until President Thomas Lu claimed Bir Tawil and renamed it to The Republic of Palansia. The Republic of Palansia is located between the two controversial borders of The Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of the Sudan. Palansia's land area is 2,060 km². Palansia has two provinces: the Aryice Province and the Panead Province. The Aryice Province is made up of mostly desert, and the Panead Province is made up of mostly mountains and rocks. Palansia does not have any water sources, though it is still not known if ground water exists. The Republic of Palansia, being at least 200 km (120 mi) away from the Red Sea, has an average temperature of 18°C to 20 °C (64.4°F to 68 °F).
Palansia refers to itself as a sovereign state since 2023 and has declared itself "The Republic of Palansia", with currently 10 seats in the Palansian Government, 9 being high-ranking or representative officials and the last seat belonging to the President. There are also 2 external Government seats that belongs to the two governors of Aryice Province and the Panead Province. However, they only have the power to create certain laws which only applies in their province and gets to vote in various Government elections: they don't have the power to create, pass, or veto national laws, nor take part in some of the most important decisions made by the President and the other 9 officials. In other words, the two governors can only control most of the province they're managing, vote in various Government elections, and to attend important national Government meetings. However, there is an exemption. If a governor obtained at least 80% approval ratings in their latest election, they could apply to be promoted to "Elite Governor"; this means they could vote, manage, or take part in a few national Government decisions, if the other 10 members of the Palansian Government grants the Elite Governor to do so. Every 3 years, the Palansian Government will host a national voting (which every citizen is required to take part in) that elects or keep the 9 officials and representatives in the Palansian Government, and in turn, every 5 years the officials and representatives of the Palansian Government will newly elect or decide to keep the President of Palansia. If the years in which the citizens elect the officials and the officials elect the President overlap, the voting for the 9 seats of the Palansian Government will first commence. 1 month after the final result, the 9 seats will elect or keep the President of Palansia.
