Email Update 11/22

Dear NC COVID-19 Student Response Corps partners,

Thank you for your support and collaboration on the NC COVID-19 Student Response Corps. In 2020, 2021, and 2022, the Response Corps placed nearly 300 interns in 100+ nonprofit and government organizations across the state.

After careful conversation and discussion with participants and partners, we will not run the NC COVID-19 Student Response Corps in 2023. We created the program at the height of the global pandemic in response to what we learned about professional development needs of students who had lost internships and jobs due to COVID-19 and the needs of organizations across sectors who found themselves with stretched capacity and new challenges, also as a result of the pandemic. The internships were primarily remote opportunities

with nonprofit and government organizations.

While internship requests related to the pandemic have decreased, the resources stemming from the Response Corps effort remain publicly available. Past training and speaker series resources are available here. You are welcome to use them and to share them with others. We also want to make sure you’re aware of the ED2NC partnership and Lead

for NC.

We look forward to continued engagement with your organization and others on public service talent pipeline efforts across NC.

Please email Dylan Russell or partnerships@osbm.nc.gov if you have any questions.

Respectfully,

Dylan Russell - Director of Lead for NCat the UNC School of Government

Jenni Owen - Director, NC Office of Strategic Partnerships
