COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER MODS (8.3.0.0)

Note: If a mod changes the file AssemblyCSharp.dll, it needs a custom version for Moguri

KNOWN ISSUES (8.3.0.0)

Please use the Bug Report Form to inform us of glitches and we'll work on them for the next patch

  • Impossible to beat Ozma if turn-based combat is active

  • Some UI bits in the center of screen for some users (reinstall the mod, update game / make sure it's the legit steam version)

  • Some strange UI behavior when resolution is above 2560x1440

  • PS4/Switch/Steam controller problems

  • Reflect is silent

  • Still some rare crashes at the end. You can delete this file without consequence and it should work fine: \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY IX\MoguriFiles\StreamingAssets\ma\mbg116.bytes

  • If there's no damage being dealt, verify the game through steam and reinstall the latest Moguri.

Launcher options

  • Orchestral Music | activate 13 re-orchestrations by Pontus Hultgren.

  • 30 FPS video | activate FMVs that have been interpolated with DAIN to be 30fps instead of the default 15.

  • Widescreen | Remove black bars in combat, worldmap and on most backgrounds larger than the default 4:3 screen.

  • Skip intros to main menu | skip logos & intro video when launching the game.

  • Hide cards bubbles | the steam version includes "cards" speech bubbles that were not in the PSX version. This disables it.

  • Turn-based battles | change the battles from real-time to turn-based, similar to FFX.

  • Frames to load battle | time spent "swirling" before a battle. 0 is almost instant, 15 is one second.

  • Sound volume

  • Music volume

  • Use PSX font | use Alexandria font by Teaito, almost identical to the PSX font.

  • 100% steal rate | Stealing never fails.

  • Disable 'can't concentrate' | at one point in the game, Garnet will fail her attacks every so often. It disables this.

Cheats from the Steam versions (uncheck here to make them unavailable in game)

    • Speed mode | speeds up the game by a factor of (choose speed) with F1.

    • Permanent transe | activates transe in combat with F2.

    • Max damage | all attacks will deal 9999 damages with F3.

    • No random battles | disables random encounters with F4.

    • Permanent cheats | 3 cheats that activate for the whole game (like learn all abilities etc.) and disable achievements.

  • Battle speed | FPS in combat (default is 15), changing this will make combats faster (e.g 30 will make fights twice as fast).

  • Active monitor | if you have several monitors

  • Resolution | for example, 1920x1080 is 16:9, while 1280x960 is 4:3. If your resolution is 4:3, don't activate widescreen.

  • Windowed | launch the game in windowed mode.

  • Audio Sampling Frequency | sound quality ; now defaults to 44kHz, which is way better than the default 32kHz

  • Debuggable | keep unticked

TROUBLESHOOTING

The game does not boot

  • ⚠️Without the official version on Steam, the game won't launch⚠️

  • Try again, the vanilla game can sometimes hang on startup

  • Reboot your computer and try again

  • Re-download FFIX in steam (right-click > properties > local files > verify integrity), uninstall and re-install Moguri

  • If the problem persists, post a message in the Steam thread, preferably including memoria.log

Install problem

  • If something went wrong, you'll see an error in Memoria.log

  • Make sure you have 11GB on C:/ (only during installation) and 11GB more on the game drive, and unzip the 3 files in the .zip (with e.g. Winrar)

Character names are doubled (ZidaneZidane)

  • This happened after uninstalling an old version of Moguri/Memoria (7.0.1 and before). This is fixed in Moguri 8, but if you want to fix an old save, you can try to use this tool

Widescreen support

  • Widescreen is supported/tested up to 16:9.

  • Some backgrounds are large enough to be displayed in widescreen, and some are designed for 4:3, so the game will switch between widescreen and narrow (it won't zoom on narrower screens)
