REF 2021 Impact Case Study:
"Modelling the Impact of Future Trade Agreements on the United Kingdom's Economy"
Together with Dr. Anamaria Nicolae I carried out work on a project assessing the impact of potential future trade agreements on the UK economy following UK’s exit from the European Union, which was submitted as an impact case study to REF 2021. For more information on this project, please see the Impact Case Study Submission on the REF Website or the project webpage - Brexit: International Trade and Productivity.
As part of this project, we have produced three policy notes and one briefing note:
Policy Note with A. Nicolae assessing the impact of the UK's departure from the EU on the UK economy, under 5 different post-Brexit trade scenarios. This policy note has been quoted by the North East Brexit Group 2018 in their report Leaving the European Union, in which a review of the opportunities, challenges and risks to the North East economy and its key sectors, with recommendations for action are presented.
Policy Note with A. Nicolae assessing the impact of the UK's departure from the EU on the EU economy, under 5 different post-Brexit trade scenarios.
Policy Note with A. Nicolae assessing the impact of a 'No-Deal' Brexit, and suggesting a possible mitigating policy to dampen the impact.
Briefing Note with A. Nicolae assessing the impact of the UK government's 'No-Deal' tariff schedule.
To accompany these notes we have produced answers to a list of FAQs.
