Farnaz Safdarian

About:

Farnaz Safdarian is currently a senior research engineer (promoted from postdoc) at Texas A&M University. She received her Ph.D. in  Electrical Engineering with a background in computer science at Louisiana State University. She earned her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering, from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) and Shahid Beheshti University, Iran, in 2011 and 2014, respectively. She has more than ten years of experience in research, involved in several national projects, and published several papers and books. She has working experience in the power industry as well as research and teaching.

• Power system modeling, analysis, and simulations 

• Synthetic power grids data models

• Power system computational analysis

• Unit commitment, economic dispatch, and power flow models

• Modeling and analyzing the impact of load and weather changes on power system operation
