Westbound traffic along I-195 was blocked from crossing the Washington Bridge,
before 5 pm, on Monday, Dec. 11, 2023.

A recent inspection found the north bridge to be unsafe.

The Washington Bridge spans the Seekonk River. It connects East Providence, RI with Providence, RI.

On Monday afternoon, Dec. 11, 2023, the north bridge was closed.

Temporary lanes were made so traffic could flow west again about 1 a. m. on Friday, Dec. 15, 2023.
