Sean Kime has been teaching at Elsik High School in Alief ISD since 2017. Prior to coming to Alief ISD, he was the Assistant Director of Orchestras at Stephen F. Austin High School in Sugar Land, Texas.
In 2014, Mr. Kime received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where he studied under Michael Alexander, Stephen Heyde, and Sandor Ostlund. While at Baylor, Mr. Kime was a member of the Baylor Symphony Orchestra, teacher in the Baylor String Project, and a member and President of the Baylor University Music Educators Association.
In 2017, Mr. Kime completed his Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting at The University of Texas at Arlington, where he studied under Dr. Clif Evans. While attending UTA, Mr. Kime was a member of the UTA Symphony Orchestra, the UTA Wind Ensemble, Pit Orchestra, and chamber ensembles. Mr. Kime conducted the UTA Symphony Orchestra and the UTA Pit Orchestra, as well as other student ensembles.
Mr. Kime's orchestras have received UIL Sweepstakes ratings, as well as unanimous first division ratings, Best In Class, and Overall Outstanding Orchestra honors at festivals around the state.
An active clinician and adjudicator around the state, Mr. Kime is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Orchestra Directors Association.
Mr. Kime enjoys motivating young musicians to achieve the highest level of performance by sharing his love and passion for music with them on a daily basis. Mr. Kime grew up in Klein ISD where he was inspired by his orchestra directors to pursue music as a career. He is especially grateful for his teachers Chris Langhans, Alicia Eissler, Ron White, Andy Moritz, Carlos Lara, and Keith Markuson for encouraging him from a young age. Above all, his students have been his greatest inspiration!
