Portfolio

I've been editing videos, producing videos, making graphics, producing broadcasts, presenting live shows, and hosting recorded content for years. Here's some examples:

Live Broadcast Production

TMRO

In January 2023, I somewhat-successfully managed to Direct, Produce, Audio-operate, and Camera-operate TMRO's first live launch broadcast since STS-135, the final flight of the Space Shuttle - all whilst presenting the broadcast as well. Live on location at Spaceport Cornwall, I was the only person to broadcast the entire event live - by myself.

NSF

I have been producing broadcasts for NASASpaceflight since summer 2023, including assisting with our broadcast of the recent Second Flight Test of SpaceX's Starship, which held more concurrent viewers than SpaceX's own stream for the entire duration they were on-air. In December of 2023, I was on the production team of Firefly Aerospace's "Fly The Lightning" broadcast, as NSF was hired for broadcasting services.

Video Editing & Graphics

TMRO

I have edited all of the videos on the TMRO YouTube channel since the summer of 2021, and partially before that back to January 2020, including TMRO Space News, It's Not Rocket Science, and various other standalone pieces of content. Following the re-direction of the visuals and graphics in early 2022, I developed a set of simple, yet effective graphics for use in our weekly news updates.

NSF

I have been editing videos for NASASpaceflight since January of 2023. Not only does this work build off my prior success with TMRO, but it strengthens my ability to collaborate with, and ingest footage from, multiple colleagues across the world. The majority of this work has come close to or surpassed 100,000 views. I also designed the new graphics package, which is seen across all of our recorded content, from daily Starbase updates, to detailed explainers. Paired with the company's new logo, it gave a modern facelift to our already excellent library of content.

Alongside editing videos for NSF, I have also been creating standalone explainer graphics for use in recorded content and live broadcasts. Notable examples are graphics used during the company's most successful broadcast to date, the maiden integrated flight test of SpaceX's Starship, which assisted in explanations of the mariner restrictions around the launch and landing site, and the trajectory the flight was supposed to take.

NSF's latest intro sequence has also had my graphical expertise applied to it. All of the motion graphics applied were designed and animated by myself.

Presenting and Commentary

TMRO

I joined TMRO Space News in January 2020, primarily reporting on developments with the world's leading commercial launch provider, SpaceX. Since Summer 2021, I've been the lead presenter of the series, presenting the vast majority of the shows, gaining valuable experience in the process. This experience has allowed me to become a relatable, enjoyable, and articulate presenter, years before any kind of formal education would traditionally allow me to do so. Since autumn 2021, I've been one of the hosts on TMRO's weekly live show, allowing me to develop my skills in off-the-cuff commentary, responding to viewer questions, and crack a joke or two in the process. I also (alongside producing, directing, audio-operating, and camera-operating) hosted TMRO's live coverage of Virgin Orbit's Start Me Up mission in January 2023, the first ever orbital launch attempt from the United Kingdom, in Cornwall.

My success as an on-screen talent can also be demonstrated with my GoFundMe campaign for a trip to Florida to report on JPL/ASU's Psyche mission; my recognition as a talented science communicator being one of the key driving factors in my ability to successfully raise beyond the targeted amount.

NSF

Following a couple of months of just editing and graphics development, I was put in front of the camera for NASASpaceflight. The years of experience I had gained through my work with TMRO was put to the test, and my first video presenting for them garnered over 200,000 views - the company's most successful hosted video for 3 months.

As of April 2023, I have also began commentating on NSF's live broadcasts - responding to developing situations, answering viewer questions, and effectively communicating difficult topics in the most ingestible way possible.

Photography

I am not a photgrapher.

I take photos for fun; here's my Flickr. Again, I am not a photographer.
