The number 1 fear that people have is not about spiders, not about ghosts or goblins, not even about heights or enclosed spaces.
The number 1 fear in people is speaking in front of a group [source: Toastmasters International®].
Toastmasters International® has helped millions of people alleviate that fear by their wonderful system.
Can you imagine young kids going through a regimented system similar to what Toastmasters® offers for adults ?
When kids start speaking in front of their peers and answer impromptu questions, slowly but surely, a leader within them emerges.
Once the leader emerges, there's no stopping that child. Oh the places he/she would go!!
Join our future leaders in the making!
"Be on the lookout for Millennials who have participated in speech and debate training. Hire them and put them on your leadership fast track.”- Robert Sher “How to Find Millennials Who Will Lead Your Company.” Forbes.com. March 2, 2014
Speakers League® clubs are not affiliated with Toastmasters International®.
The club fosters leadership development in youth as they hold leadership positions and manage many aspects of the club.
There are three main segments at youth-run meetings:
1. Prepared speeches that emphasize different speech-crafting techniques and presentation skills
2. Impromptu, during which members rise and reply, off-the-cuff, for 1 to 2 minutes to questions or topics
3. Evaluations that follow club guidelines for constructive critiques.
