Custom Foot Orthotics (custom inserts)

A Custom Foot Orthotic is a shoe insert that helps restore the proper bio-mechanics to the foot. Custom orthotics are known to help conditions such as back and knee pain, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, bunions, corns, calluses and a host of other foot problems, leg, knee and postural complaints.

Procedure

Dr. Dumont is happy to offer custom orthotics to his patients. Patients are asked to come in for an initial consultation where a casting technique is used to provide a customized orthotic shoe insert. The imprint is then sent to a private lab where the insert is produced. It typically takes 3-5 weeks to receive the custom orthotics.

Coverage

Many private third party insurance policies cover orthotics. Patients should call their provider to determine if they are covered. Custom orthotics are not covered by Manitoba Health.

If referred by a physician a clearly identified diagnosis is necessary for insurance coverage purposes.
