Faith Formation

We are still in need of a 3rd grade teacher. Contact Dorene Francis at 319-331-0437 if this is a way you can serve our parish. 

 

Classes meet on Wednesday at 6:30 at the parish hall.  

 

St. Mary's Youth Group All 8th -12th graders are invited to attend to talk faith and have fun. Food is always provided. Friends from outside the parish are welcome as well. Meetings are Sundays 6:00-8:00 pm at St. Mary's Hall.  Upcoming dates are Oct. 29, Nov. 12, Nov. 26, Dec.10

Catholic Messenger is holding a Christmas Card contest. Rules and deadline attached electronically or there are some copies at the church entrances.



Supported by the Past – Building for the Future Payments go into the Building Fund account that has $753,7502.86. Thank you to those who have made and are making regular pledge payments. 

 

Annual Diocesan Appeal, To Support Welcoming and Foster Belonging is underway. Our goal this year is $20,177 The mailings have been delayed so you should receive information soon. You can also go on the Diocese website to donate electronically https://davenportdiocese.org/annual-diocesan-appeal   Please prayerfully consider your pledge to the Annual Diocesan Appeal.

 

The envelopes for St. Mary Oxford have a light blue border around them for easier identification if you go to mass at Cosgrove or Williamsburg. Please continue to mark St. Mary Oxford as well. You may also mail your offering to St. Mary Church, PO Box 80, Oxford, IA 52322. Another option is to sign up for automatic payment – contact Kathy Brack for more information. 

 

J&M Roofing plans to work on the church tile roof this week. Alliant Electric will be disconnecting the church electricity only Tuesday-Thursday so the roofer can be on the roof safely. 

 

If you or a family member is hospitalized or having surgery, etc at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City and you would like Fr. Francis to visit, you will need to call him at 563-895-0600 to let him know. There is not a chaplain assigned to Mercy and parish priests will be covering.

 

Iowa Catholic Youth Conference 2024: We are happy to announce that the 3rd annual Iowa Catholic Youth Conference (ICYC) which targets those in grades 6-8 and their parents is set for Sunday, March 24, 2024. Mark your calendars! The event will take place at Regina Education Center in Iowa City and will feature nationally-known Scally Brothers Band (https://www.thescallybrothers.com/). More information will be available later this fall.

 

Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, November 1 from 7:00-11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Hall Oxford. Free will offering


Every effort will be made to celebrate weekend masses. In the event it is necessary to cancel mass because of weather, we will attempt to get it on the following television stations: KCRG, KWWL and KGAN. Kathy will also send an email to those who are on the electronic bulletin list. You may also call Kathy Brack at 828-4412 for mass information.

 

Weather Related Daily Mass Cancellation. If the Clear Creek Amana Schools have a weather related delayed start, there will be no Tuesday or Thursday morning mass at St. Mary Oxford. Also, if there is an early dismissal because of weather, there will no Monday or Wednesday evening mass at St. Peter Cosgrove. If there is any question, please call Father Francis or Kathy Brack.
