How Do I Get Started?

Square dancing is a little bit like typing: at first you have to think about where each letter is on the keyboard; but with practice, it becomes automatic. Most dances require that you know the "mainstream" and "plus" calls. This takes about nine months of lessons to make it automatic— like typing.

But don't worry, you'll be having fun and making friends from the very beginning. About half-way through you will be able to go to regular dances (all the callers know what you've learned so far and use just those calls).

Workshop

Lads 'N' Lassies offers square dance lworkshop beganning Febrauary 2023.  Lessons begin at 7:00 pm on Monday evenings at the Granada Hills Community Church. (click on Location for directions).

You won't be alone at the workshops. We typically have a dozen of eager dances.

Couples, singles, young people, and families are welcome.  Casual clothes with close-toed shoes, please. 

Proof of vaccination is required.  Bring your own water.  No snacks provided.
