SPOTLIGHTS ATTENDANCE POLICY:
The workshop requires commitment, dedication and a team effort. DAILY ATTENDANCE IS MOST IMPORTANT!!! We must be informed in advance of all vacation days or activities which would require absence from rehearsals because this will affect scheduling and casting. Students who will miss any more than one week are INELIGIBLE for Spotlights.
Be aware that the daily program runs for FIVE WEEKS. A student who is going to be away for a week will NOT be considered for a significant role. A student who goes away without telling the staff in advance will be REMOVED from a significant role.
If a child misses the program for vacation, it cannot be assumed that he/she can "make up" missed work. The rehearsal schedule is tight and once something has been taught, it is nearly impossible to fit in the time to teach it to someone who was not there. If a child is missing from the from the learning of a dance or scene, it is likely that he/she will not have an opportunity to be added after the fact. As always, it is our goal to include as many students as possible in as much of the show as possible. However, when students are missing from the ensemble, it is very difficult to "pretend" they are there when blocking dances and scenes. Because of past difficulties in managing absences due to vacation, we feel that it is necessary to enforce this policy and to make everyone aware of it before registering.
***Students who must attend summer school for any portion of the summer are INELIGIBLE for the Summer Theater Workshop.
