Biography:

Minghua Xia [M'12] obtained his Ph.D. degree in Telecommunications and Information Systems from Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China, in 2007. Currently, he works as a Research Fellow at the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique--Energy, Material and Telecommunications center (INRS-EMT), University of Quebec, Montreal, QC, Canada. From Mar. 2007 to July 2009, he was with the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) of South Korea, Beijing R&D Center, Beijing, China, where he worked as a member of engineering staff and participated in the projects on the physical layer design of 3GPP LTE mobile communications. From Aug. 2009 to Dec. 2010, he was with The University of Hong Kong (HKU), Hong Kong;  from Jan. 2011 to Dec. 2012, he was with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as a Postdoctoral Fellow. His research interests are in the general area of wireless communications, and in particular the design and performance analysis of multi-antenna systems, cooperative relaying systems and cognitive relaying networks. His current focus is on the design and analysis of wireless energy transmission and harvesting systems.
