 from the Everett Herald October 31, 2010: "The Secret of the Halloween Murder: For 75 years, a murder victim's daughter didn't know who shattered her family." In a prominent feature story, Herald Writer Eric Stevick tells how Melinda Van Wingen (Scripps '01), a historian at Everett Public Library, brought forward information that helped bring closure to the family of a murder victim in a notorious case dating back to Halloween 1934.
