New: PicasaStarter Version 1.5.0 is released.

PicasaStarter Version 1.5.0 release version is available in the downloads directory!

Some minor fixes have been added to Beta Version 1.5.1b3 which is also available in the Download directory.

NOTE: Picasa Version 3.9 has just been released by Google.

PicasaStarter is compatible with Picasa Version 3.9 as long as you don't use the Experimental "Change Database Location...." tool. PicasaStarter expects the Picasa database to be in it's default location and the database will not be found by PicasaStarter if it's location is changed. This Change Database Location tool is very limited compared to the features in PicasaStarter for using multiple databases.

Features added since PicasaStarter version 1.4.5:

• • Added Ability to choose settings file directory. This allows a local copy of PicasaStarter to share a shared or network copy of the settings file.

  • Added a Shortcuts creation button to make it easier for users to create /autorun shortcuts, and added "personal" and "AskUser" shortcut types.

  • A first run settings dialog appears on new install to ask for Picasa3 and Settings file locations.

  • Formatted Database Descriptions box to allow newlines, and Database Name to include spaces.

  • Bugfix to allow PicasaStarter to run correctly on non-english XP PCs.

  • Bugfix to allow the same copy of PicasaStarter and it's settings to run on both 32 bit and 64 bit PCs.

  • Enhancement to minimize the PicasaStarter dialog box when Picasa is started, keeping it from obscuring the desktop.
