DBZ Lavoce

A Dean Zelinsky "Lavoce"...

I initially wanted it Black, but too long a wait, so I opted for a trans-Wine beauty... and I loved the demo and sound possibilities which remind me of the changes I made on my CrocSkin; same piezzo, same possibility to change humbuckers to single coils; This will sound just superb, and at 8 pounds, you can play all night (unlike the Bolero which is way heavier).

A few day of waiting, and Fedex delivers

Even the case looks (and is) great!

As for the guitar: Fabulous! Strings were set a little too high for my taste, and I fixed that in a snap. Even with strings lowered not a buzz. Good.

What I received

What's inside?

I was curious as to what's used for the Piezzo and the different settings for the pickups (single coil, piezzo mix, out-of-phase). Not surprisingly, the two cavities at the back of the guitar (there are two more for the battery and the mag pickup switch) are quite busy, same situation I ended up with after rewiring the mag pickups and upgrading my Bolero CrocSkin with a Piezzo bridge and preamp from Graphtech.

The piezzo section
The magnetic pickups section

Busy cavities, no ground or graphite in the cavities to help reduce hum noises; maybe not needed; I'll have to test in real conditions.

Update: Ground/Graphite should be there.... I can definitely hear a 50Hz (in France) hum when on Piezzo. I'll fix that (and clean as much as possible the wiring, which is really messy).
