Grade 10 Climate Change Activities

Attached below are several documents requested at the STAO session.

The workshop PREZI can be viewed here

"Ice Core Data Sets" has several sets of data extracted from various summaries on the NOAA website

"GHE Model Tests" shares the results from the optimum test of the Fish tank greenhouse effect model - just in case your Dry Ice doesn't cooperate.

"2D Climate Change Concept Map" and "2P Climate Change Concept Map" have the elements of the Unit Overview broken down by sub topic using the visual format outlined in the session.

"Climate Change Unit Assessment" is the Excel document to allow you to track your addressing of the SIS strand as well as your assesment of various activities.

EXEMPLARS

Some of my students have done a great job on their "Climate Change - Cause & Effects" presentations.

2011 - A group of 4 students scripted their debate between CO2 and Sunlight as being the cause of Climate Change using Google Docs. See Presentation at left.

2011 - I provided students with a simple example of how sunlight affects cloud formation using a Prezi

2011 - Alexus Ball and Christine Keough used a Prezi to explain how Continents Affect Climate in their 2P science class
