Ball Park Flood

The photo is of the damage caused by flooding during a freak rainstorm in June, 2010. Over 5 inches of rain fell in the headwaters of the Loose Creek in a period of a few hours. As the floodwaters rose, the water jumped County Road 403 and flowed onto the parking lot of the old ballfield. When the water was at its highest level, it flowed onto the old field and exited along the right field fence. Residents living along the Loose Creek said that it was a historic flood as the waters reached areas never touched before. The amazing response from LCCC members enabled the fields to be repaired where games were played just a day later.

Historic Snowstorm

The photo is of the aftermath of a historic snowstorm that hit Loose Creek on February 1, 2011. Heavy snow started at 6:00 a.m. that morning and by 10:00 p.m. an estimated 18 inches of snow fell. There were several reports of thunder and lightening during the heaviest snowfall from 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the Central Missouri area. During this time, snow piled up at at rate of 2-3 inches per hour.
