Chiropractic Adjustment

A chiropractic adjustment restores function to the neuromusculoskeletal system. For example, a patient may come into the clinic with pain, weakness, numbness or tingling in the shoulder, arm, hands, and fingers. Now, a subluxation is known as a joint restriction or a bone out of place which compromises the function of that joint, muscle, tendon, or nerve associated with that particular area of the body. A common bone to look at it in this situation is the 1st rib. When the 1st rib is subluxated or out of its normal position, it may interfere with certain nerves and blood vessels that are passing from your neck and traveling to the shoulder and down the arm into the hands. The rib can actually compress or pinch a nerve that is responsible for function down the arm. By applying a chiropractic manipulation to the rib, restored function may occur to the shoulder, arm, hands, and fingers.
