I received a call from Maria (not her real name) from New York, NY seeking an abortion. She wanted to abort her baby because she had taken medication for migraine headaches she was afraid that the medication would affect her baby. I counseled her and explained the life long consequences of an abortion physical and emotional. I explained her baby’s life began at conception and her baby’s life was precious and sacred. I explained this is where our faith is tested and we trust in God that her baby will be fine. After about an hour she said, “I’m having my baby” March 2011 her baby turned one years old. This past year she calls me at least twice a month to tell me the progress of her baby, and tells me “I feel awful that I even had the thought of wanting to abort my baby. I can’t even imagine my life without my baby.
