Sakura-Con, April 18–20, 2014

Post date: Feb 24, 2014 4:44:51 PM

Haiku Northwest will have a presence at Sakura-Con, an annual anime festival in Seattle to be held April 18–20, 2014 at the Washington State Convention Center. On April 18 and 19 we’ll hand out business cards with a haiku, our name, and website, and Tanya McDonald will share her small booklet about haiku. On Sunday, April 20, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Carmen Sterba will present a discussion about haiku. Dianne Garcia has provided a theme for this event: By using more “show” than “tell” we can show how haiku (and its related forms) can create and share personal memories of Sakura-Con. Heres how Haiku Northwest members can help: 1. Please send Dianne a haiku for a business card (it should be something you think the 20-somethings will appreciate).

2. Be a “circulator” and “ambassador” for a couple of hours on April 18 and 19.

3. Help to fold the small booklet before the March meeting.

To offer your help or to send a poem, please contact Dianne at garciadianne@hotmail.com. Thank you!
