Fetherston Gardens

This arboretum is located in Weston suburb. It is about 2.5 ha in area and was planted by Canberra’s Parks and Gardens section in 1978 as a proving ground for species to be used in landscaping the city.

It was transferred to Canberra Institute of Technology’s Horticulture Department in the late 1980s.

The arboretum is noteworthy for its extensive collection of hardwoods, some of which are quite rare.
