The city of Gypsum is now able to accept credit card payments. There will be a 2.5% fee added to the customers bill for this, ie on a $40.00 bill there would be an additional $1.00 charge. The city provides water, sewer, and trash service for all residents.
Utility bills are sent out the 1st of each month. Bills are due the 15th of each month. There is a letter drop in the front door of the City Office at 521 Maple for payment of bills after hours or payments may be made at Citizens State Bank, Gypsum. A 10% late charge will be added to any bill not paid by the 15th. Water will be shut off if not paid by the 24th of the month. Bill must be paid in full and a reconnect fee of $30 must be paid before water can be reconnected.
City Water rates: The minimum charge per month for city residents will be $10.00 for up to 1,000 gallons of water for 5/8 and 3/4 meters. Then $3.25 per 1,000 gallons for 1001 - 10,000 gallons. Then $4.00 per 1,000 gallons of water for all water used of 10,000. The rate for minimum charge for trailer park and meters 1" and larger is $20.00.
Rural Water Rates: The minimum charge per month will be $15.00 for up to 1,000 gallons of water. Then $3.25 per 1,000 gallons of water for 1,001 - 10,000 gallons. Then $4.00 per 1,000 gallons of water for all water used over 10,000. Rural water is to be used for households only. At present, no additional hookups are allowed for rural residents.
Sewer Rates: The monthly minimum charge is $9.70 per unit for up to 1,000 of gallons of water metered. Then $1.20 per 1,000 gallons of water metered up to 15,000 gallons.
Trash pickup in on Wednesday mornings each week and trash should be set out for pickup Tuesday evening or early Wednesday mornings. One trash carts is provided to each household for a fee of $16.00 per month. Extra carts are available for $7.00 each. Trash carts should be removed from street side Wednesday evenings.
