A new species for Berkshire

The county list of macro-moths has now increased to 636 species, with the addition of Dotted Fan-foot, recorded by Bernard Clarke during a moth recording session at Windsor Forest on 7 July 2010, also attended by David White and Les Finch. An unfamilar moth was found in Bernard's trap, and identified by Bernard, David and Les as Dotted Fan-foot. This has also been confirmed by Norman Hall.

Dotted Fan-foot is a Nationally Scarce species that is mostly found in eastern England, and usually in wetland habitats, but it seems to be expanding its range both geographically and into other habitats in recent years.
