Berkshire's 2nd confirmed Clifden Nonpareil

Post date: Sep 17, 2014 9:13:13 PM

A Clifden Nonpareil was trapped in VC22 woods near Oxford last night (16th). The lucky person was Marc Botham - well done Marc (through gritted, jealous teeth!). Marc has posted a photo on the Upper Thames Moth Blog.

This is only the third county record, and the second fully confirmed one. The first record (1954) is dubious (possible escape from captivity), so the first confirmed one was by Steve Nash in 1998, following the rule that was in force at the time: all incoming migrants to Berkshire had to pass through Steve's trap before they were allowed to go further :)
