Welcome to my website!
In 2013, I completed my PhD at the Faculty of Sciences, Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. Afterwards, I had several positions in Germany, Norway and Sweden. Currently, I am Research Associate at the Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS), Berlin, Germany, and member of the research group Thermodynamic Modeling and Analysis of Phase Transitions. Before, I was Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Oslo (UiO), Norway, and member of the Section Differential Equations and Computational Mathematics. During my time at UiO I had a 6-months research stay in 2020 at the Centre of Mathematical Sciences, Lund University, Sweden. For more details, please see my curriculum vitae.
My research is focused on Applied Analysis, Partial Differential Equations (PDEs), Dynamical Systems and Modelling. In the field of PDEs I am working amongst others on existence and regularity theory for parabolic PDEs and obstacle problems. Here, for instance I am interested in nonstandard growth problems motivated, e.g. by electro-rheological fluids. Furthermore, my second research area is focused on bifurcation theory, numerical bifurcation analysis and geometric singular perturbation theory. One main application is the mathematical and numerical investigation of cardiac arrhythmia, e.g. the so-called early afterdepolarisations, please see my research interest.
In general, I am interested in problems motivated from physics and biology, e.g. fluid mechanics and human diseases (e.g. cardiac arrhythmia and depressions), and I am open-minded for new problems and challenges in mathematics and interdisciplinary research.
Types of partial differential equations I am working on:
elliptic and parabolic p-Laplacian
monodomain and bidomain equations
Keller-Segel systems and related problems
Moroever, I am member of the project "Mathematical Modelling of Cellular Self-Organization on Stimuli Responsive Extracellular Matrix", an interdiciplinary research project with the Charité in Berlin. For more details, please see the project website on https://mathplus.de/
