What is Financial Aid?

Financial aid refers to money that helps you pay for college, university or trade school. Some forms of financial aid however, can only be accessed by completing a financial aid application, such as the FAFSA, AACTUS and/or CSS Profile.

What is FAFSA?

FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid. It is a FREE application that high school seniors and college students complete to apply for federal, need-based financial aid. 

FAFSA Eligiblity:

By completing your FAFSA, students could qualify for federal loans, federal work study, federal grants and need-based scholarships (e.g. Roberta B. WIllis Scholarship)! Start your FAFSA here: www.studentaid.gov

What is AACTUS?  

The Aid Application for CT Undocumented Students is an application that allows a specific group of undocumented students to apply for college/university-specific financial aid. 

AACTUS Eligiblity:

What is a CSS Profile?

A CSS Profile is an online application that prospective college students complete to access college/university-specific financial aid, such as scholarships. It is not required by all colleges and universities. See a list of schools that require it, HERE.
