How can I help?

Donations Appreciated!!

If you're interested in donating, we could use funds to help with general operating costs and help us to stay furnished with supplies (basic school supplies, toilet paper, soap, paper towels, etc.). Make checks out to Montrose Adult Education Center.  Send money through PayPal -  Pay Pal Link

Montrose Adult Education Center is funded from a federal and a state grant.  We are currently renting a space at Zion Lutheran Church to house our classrooms and office. We offer English as Second Language (ESL) classes, have GED preparation classes and will work with students who want help with basic reading, language and math skills. We have volunteers who work one-on-one with students who need basic literacy or extra help with GED preparation. We, also, have volunteers who act as conversation partners (meeting with a student and practicing English with them). Most of the funds from the grants go to paying salaries and benefits (taxes, PERA, health care).

We need more volunteers to work with students!  Currently, we are looking for a volunteer who might be interested in leading a conversation group for our ESL students. If you are interested in being a volunteer, you can email abe@mcsd.org and leave your name and number.  We generally have a couple of volunteer trainings during the year.

If you'd be interested in being on the board of directors, please email abe@mcsd.org and leave your information. We currently do not have a board but feel that a 'working' board could help us move forward and make the program more stable and resilient.
