About Me

Hello! This is my third year as a school librarian at A.J. Whittenberg Elementary. I have served in Greenville County Schools for 16 years. I worked as a middle school ELA teacher for 12 years at Ralph Chandler Middle and Hillcrest Middle Schools. While completing my graduate program at USC to earn my Master's degree in Library and Information Science, I served as an Extended Day Program worker and a custodian in Greenville County Schools.

I also have a Bachelor's degree in English and Secondary Education and a Master's degree in K-12 Literary from Furman University.

My philosophy of librarianship is to enrich students with the joy of reading, empower them with the knowledge of research skills and digital citizenship, inspire them with creativity in the expression of their knowledge, and support their learning with a positive environment. My vision is to see and help every student love reading and discover how much of a difference it can make in their lives as they grow and contribute to our global community.

My wife Anna Kate and I have been married for 14 years. :) We are both elementary librarians. We live in Simpsonville with our daughter Tessa and our "fur babies" - one dog and three cats. In our spare time, we love to take walks, play basketball, cheer our Clemson Tigers, sing in our church choir, and hang out with friends and family!
