Black Baptist Church Outreach Initiatives during the First Phase of COVID-19
Michael Cross
Michael Cross completed the Master of Liberal Arts and Sciences program at Western Illinois University in May of 2020. Michael also received his Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences from WIU in May of 2019 with high honors. His concentrations included Psychology, Communications, and African American Studies. Michael served as an Assistant Complex Director at Corbin-Olson Residence Halls on WIU’s campus. While Michael is a member of the United Church of Christ (UCC) he has an affinity for the Black preaching tradition at large.
Michael's Master’s Thesis was entitled, “The Art of the Black Preaching Tradition: The Makings of the Heart of Preaching with Sermon Analysis.” He has a true passion for this subject area and will be continuing his education at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, IL to pursue his Master of Divinity in the fall of 2020.
